1. Measure the usable room
Record wall-to-wall dimensions in centimetres, then note doors, windows, columns, power outlets and any built-in cabinets. Mark where the furniture will sit, including doors and drawers that need to open.
Write down usable width, depth and ceiling height; make a simple room sketch.
2. Measure the full delivery route
Check the narrowest doorway, corridor, stair landing and lift entrance, not just the main room. Ask whether the item arrives assembled, flat-packed or in removable sections. Turns and diagonal clearance matter.
Record the narrowest opening and ask for the packed or disassembled component dimensions.
3. Allow space to actually use it
Test your plan with a chair pulled out, a wardrobe door open and a person walking around the piece. Don't use a universal clearance number: room shape, mobility needs and furniture movement differ.
Mark movement and opening zones on your sketch before selecting the final size.
4. Check materials per individual item
Ask which parts are solid timber, engineered board, metal, fabric or other materials. Request the exact finish, care instructions and any applicable warranty in the quotation. A product name or photograph alone does not establish its construction.
Get the specific material, finish and care information in writing for the chosen item.
5. Confirm delivery and assembly terms
Ask whether delivery serves your address, how shipping and floor-carrying fees are calculated, whether assembly is included, and what access or lift restrictions apply. Production and delivery timing should be confirmed for the specific order.
Get the final delivery charge, assembly scope and estimated schedule before committing.
6. Review the exact order before paying
Compare the final product or variant, quantity, measurements, materials, colour, total cost, payment method and written return/after-sales conditions. Confirm which details are agreed and which remain subject to a site measurement.
Save the approved quotation or order summary and the seller's contact details.
